I have learnt so much from asking questions, and you would be surprised as most performers encourage newbies and are happy to give information to help you. </p> <p>Burlesque is really a solo art performance and every decision is made by the performer themselves (unless you are a duo, troupe or group) choreography, costumes, hair, makeup, music is all chosen by yourself as it is your art. </p> <p>If this scares you, a lot of academy’s offer group lessons that at the end of a course will have a performance night where you can perform and they choose the costume, music and choreograph the routine.</p> <p>Confidence is a really big thing when you perform because if you aren’t confident it will show on your face. There are so many performers out there with all different shapes and sizes, but the confidence to get up there needs to come from within you. Funny enough I feel most confident when I’m half naked infront of a crowd! </p> <p>I hope this answered your question! Anything else I’m happy to help with.
